Social Skills are for Life

Social Skills Challenges

We believe that everyone deserves to have meaningful relationships in their lives. Building strong relationships with other people is an essential part of life. And while cultivating these relationships can bring great joy to life, it can also be the source of anxiety and stress.

At City Counseling Center, we provide children, teens, and young adults with the support needed to develop social skills and work through the barriers that prevent relationships from blossoming. If you’re looking for help to navigate your child’s social challenges, we are here to help. Our team of professional counselors is passionate about providing opportunities to help develop the skills essential to building healthy relationships.

How can therapy help with social skills?

Children and teens can struggle in social situations even under the best circumstances. Throw in over two years of social distancing, online learning, longer periods of time with their family, and returning to the classroom, and their social worlds can feel overwhelming. For some children, the transition back to social groups, time with peers, and school routines may be a time of joy, as well as a source of anxiety.
